Search for an Adjunct Swahili Lecturer 6/7/2011

The Program of African and Asian Languages at Northwestern University seeks applicants for an adjunct lecturer position to teach one section of first-year Swahili during the Fall quarter of the 2011-12 academic year.

Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in foreign language pedagogy, second language acquisition and related fields, and who have  experience in teaching college-level Swahili.  Experience with or willingness to learn to use the Northwestern University web-based course management system is a job requirement. The adjunct lecturer will teach one 50-minute class session three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), assess and provide feedback on predesigned written assignments and tests through the course web site, coordinate teaching and assessment with the instructor of the other two Fall first-year sections, conduct oral proficiency assessments, hold office hours, and submit the final course grade for his or her section.
